Due to current events, we are having to postpone our November show. The current health guidelines for the state are too restricting for us to continue with the event. But we as a club also don't want to unnecessarily put our members, bingo hall staff and our attendees at risk. If you have already reserved a table and paid upfront, please contact Richard for a refund or a credit towards the spring showūü§ě. Stay tuned to Facebook or the website for updates in the next few months for updates on the spring show! Sorry everyone ūüė≠. Stay safe and healthy.

Five men who wanted to build interlocking modules to promote their love of model railroading founded the Maumee Valley Railroad club in the early 1990’s.  For a time the club had a display in the former South Town Mall.  The club has been seen at many events in the area including the club sponsored bi-annual swap meet, NMRA division 3 meet, the Great American Train show,  the annual Train Fest at Science Central, and in 1999 attended the Muddy River Run.   Over the years the modular display has changed, but the clubs mission and goals have remained the same.

The NEW Maumee Valley Railroad!
Our club is building a totally new modular HO gauge model railroad layout.
It features several new innovative  concepts for a modular train layout.

  • We will operate trains with a purpose.¬†¬†With Digital Command Control, each engine on the layout is independently controlled. The system we have acquired has the capacity to operate over 100 different trains at the same time.¬†¬†Trains will be able to travel on the same track going in opposite directions, simulating real world train movements.¬†¬†We‚Äôve eliminated our double track loops in favor of a layout featuring a single track mainline for more stimulating operation.
  • No Duck Under.¬†¬†By eliminating the circular layout, we‚Äôve also removed the troublesome (and sometimes painful) need to crawl on your hands & knees to get into the center of the layout.
  • High quality construction.¬†¬†Over 90% of the material we‚Äôve used is ¬ĺ‚ÄĚ cabinet grade maple/birch plywood.¬†¬†This material is more stable, stronger and less expensive than traditional pine.¬†¬†Extra time and effort has been put into the building of this layout to ensure a high standard of quality construction was maintained.
  • Computer interface capability.¬†¬†With our DCC system, it will be feasible to automate the operation of trains, semi automate them, operate the layout with one individual, or with a human dispatcher controlling train movements.
  • Simulate Operations of Train Movements.¬†¬†¬†Plans are to use this layout for a game like environment involving operating sessions with train movements.
